The transaction, originally announced in February 2025, forms part of a broader deal to acquire up to 16,100 sites from Bharti Airtel and Bharti Hexacom in a cash deal valued at ₹3,308.7 crore. The Airtel portion, now concluded, represents nearly 80% of the total sites and provides a major boost to Indus’ already substantial portfolio, which exceeds 234,643 towers and 386,819 co-locations as of 31st Dec 2024.

In a regulatory filing on Wednesday, Indus stated that it had “executed the transaction” related to the passive infrastructure business of Bharti Airtel. The addition of these 12,700 sites is expected to enhance operational efficiency and further solidify Indus' position in one of the world’s largest tower markets.

While the planned sale of 3,400 additional sites from Bharti Hexacom has been put “in abeyance,” according to an update from Indus, the company emphasised that it will continue to inform stakeholders of any developments. TowerXchange understands that the focus remains on maximising the value from the newly integrated Airtel assets, which provide immediate scale and network advantage in high-growth regions.

With the majority of the planned transaction now complete, Indus is well positioned to build on the momentum and capitalise on continued operator demand and emerging technology rollouts.
