Communication & Renewable Energy Infrastructure (CREI) is proud to announce the successful deployment of its Telecom Energy Service Company (TESCO) project in partnership with MTN South Sudan. This initiative focuses on delivering sustainable energy solutions to power MTN’s network expansion and enhance connectivity across South Sudan. With 475 telecom sites already included in the TESCO perimeter and plans to increase this number in the near future, this collaboration marks a significant step in advancing South Sudan’s telecom infrastructure.
Since assuming over operations, CREI has considerably improved network availability, supporting MTN South Sudan’s goal of delivering reliable connectivity nationwide. The project is also helping align with MTN Group’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2040, as CREI’s initiatives have already resulted in a notable reduction in CO₂ emissions, estimated at over 60%. In 2025, CREI will further support MTN South Sudan’s plans for technological advancements, including the deployment of 4G and 5G technologies, while effectively managing the increase in energy demand that accompanies these upgrades.
Under the leadership of CEO Monzer Ali and in collaboration with partners like CREI, MTN South Sudan continues to enhance its status as a market leader in the country fostering greater digital inclusion and economic development across the region.
CREI remains committed to driving sustainable telecom and energy infrastructure across Africa. This TESCO project stands as a testament to its dedication to environmental preservation, digital inclusion, and operational excellence
