The company applied Blending cutting-edge multilayer coverage with environmental sustainability

QMC Telecom recently completed a mobile network densification project in Búzios, Rio de Janeiro, deploying a multilayer coverage model to enhance connectivity and data capacity. The project took around seven months to complete and utilised both macro towers and street-level solutions (SLS), representing a significant shift towards modern network infrastructure design.

The key focus of the QMC solution was to provide robust, high-quality coverage while optimising resource use. This is particularly important as the demand for mobile data continues to surge, driven by the rapid expansion of 5G services. By enhancing network density, QMC's solution helps mobile operators meet these growing demands while maintaining operational efficiency.

One of the standout features of this project was its environmentally-conscious design. The multilayer approach was specifically developed to blend in with Búzios’ natural and urban landscape, prioritising aesthetic and environmental considerations. Instead of relying solely on traditional large macro towers, QMC used a combination of camouflaged towers and smaller, low-height solutions to preserve the city's unique character.

The multilayer model itself is a forward-thinking alternative to conventional approaches, which often focus on single-site macro towers. QMC’s design integrates macro sites with low-height and indoor networks to deliver seamless coverage. This approach is particularly suited for urban areas, where aesthetic and environmental constraints are paramount, and where network densification is needed to cope with the rising demand for mobile services.

In summary, QMC's innovative, multilayer solution offers a sustainable and efficient way to enhance mobile connectivity, setting a new benchmark for future network deployments, especially in areas requiring careful environmental and visual considerations.
