Boldyn Networks has launched a multi-tier Private 5G service to make it easier for customers to adopt private 5G networks. The service is described as Private 5G as a Service and is available in four tiers to customers in Europe. Enterprise and industrial customers can now enjoy 5G’s improved safety, cybersecurity and operational efficiency without committing to an expensive deployment.
Boldyn Networks, which was rebranded from BAI Communications in the northern hemisphere last year, has been one of the leading digital infrastructure companies that have evolved the towerco model. The company has more than 60 private networks already deployed and is investing €300mn to support the adoption of Private Networks worldwide.
Private 5G enables connectivity for new technologies like smart machines and ensures high uptime for critical devices. The Port of Kemi in Finland’s CEO Markku Rautio said “By opting for a service-based subscription, we have seamlessly integrated this technology” illustrating the adaptability of the business model.
Four tiers of service will be available to align investment and costs against customers’ needs, paid for in monthly instalments, much like a tower lease. Many towercos have been exploring Private Network deployments as a complement to the towerco model, but the correct deployment and financing models are still being developed. Boldyn closed its acquisition of Cellnex’s Private Network’s business Edzcom in May 2024, following Cellnex’s acquisition of Edzcom in July 2020.
