Two of the leading players in remote monitoring and control systems have announced an an exciting new agreement to bring Telemisis’ SiteNode hardware to Jabil Inala’s new remote monitoring and analytics platform. Telemisis’ share the drivers behind the arrangement, how this will affect and bring benefits to customers in the telecoms sector and plans for development of the partnership.
TowerXchange: Firstly, congratulations on your agreement with Jabil Inala. Can you explain a little bit more about the agreement?

After Jabil’s acquisition of Inala, they approached Telemisis to supply SiteNode®, our industry leading ultra-low power remote telemetry node, for use in the new Inala Site Monitoring & Analytics platform. Effectively the Telemisis SiteNode 3G enhances the capabilities of the Inala Site Monitoring platform.
We will be supplying them with SiteNode hardware and middleware for use in the new Inala Site Monitoring & Analytics platform, on a non-exclusive basis, for use initially in Africa.
Outside this agreement Telemisis will continue to invest in and develop SitePro, our own remote monitoring and control solution, which continues to be available for use in all markets and industry sectors.

TowerXchange: Which territories are covered by the agreement?

We will initially be supplying Jabil Inala with SiteNode for use in Africa, as our preferred, but not exclusive partner.
TowerXchange: What industry sectors are covered by the agreement?

The primary market focus is on telecoms but there are no restrictions to how they can deploy SiteNode as part of their RMS solution.
TowerXchange: Will both companies compete against each other in competitive bids in Africa?
Chris Begent, Commercial Director, Telemisis:
It is our intention that Jabil Inala take the lead in Africa, given their local sales and support presence across the region. Jabil Inala will continue to develop their analytics platform and we will continue to work with Jabil Inala to develop the SiteNode to adapt to the evolving needs of the market.
Telemisis will continue to develop the SitePro system and provide exciting new features for mature markets and new sectors, where the emphasis is on system reliability and quality.
TowerXchange: What will happen to Telemisis’ existing customers in Africa?

Our existing customers are not affected by the agreement with Jabil Inala. We will continue to provide customers with the same high quality levels of support they’ve come to expect from us. SitePro and SiteNode continue to be available to them for extended roll out and upgrades.
TowerXchange: Are Telemisis still selling SitePro to customers?

Telemisis continue to invest in the development of enhancements for SitePro, to meet the needs of both developing and mature markets. As an example of this, we’ve just launched the next generation of SitePro and a new 3G version of SiteNode. We’re looking forward to delivering new and exciting functionality to customers over the coming months.
Telemisis’s philosophy has always been to focus on delivery of the most reliable, scalable end-to-end solution. We will maintain this focus on quality and will continue to invest in developing our own portfolio of sensors and peripherals as a key strand to this strategy.
We are continuing to support and acquire customers in a wide range of sectors, from telecoms to remote process operators and look forward to making some exciting announcements across a range of sectors in the coming months.
